Just had a decent dinner here. Nice and cozy vibes, live live music, and it gets a bit louder on the weekend nights. My booth was a bit uncomfortable because I could feel every time the people behind me moved. Better to come here in the winter since it’s like you’re eating at a log cabin. The food was good, but nothing incredibly noteworthy or worth going back for. I loved the burger and the beignets (dessert) and I saw a LOT of takeout which was fair. Cornbread was okay, brisket sliders were pretty good, and the chicken and waffles were subpar. Service was fine too—better than a lot of the other reviews say I think. The meal felt a bit long, but we also took our time ordering, so back of house didn’t feel behind.

I recently visited Hunter Kitchen and Bar during a busy brunch hour, and while the atmosphere truly shines, the food and service left something to be desired for the price point. Starting with the positives, the vibe is fantastic—it's a classy take on Southern charm, with wood panels everywhere that really enhance the country feel. The country music playing in the background added to the welcoming, relaxed ambiance, making it a great spot to unwind. On the food side, I tried the Rice Bowl with BBQ pulled chicken. The chicken itself was moist and tender, but it could have benefited from trimming some of the excess fat and tendons. Unfortunately, the dish focused more on presentation than flavor, coming across as a bit bland overall. The gluten-free Kale Salad with regular pulled chicken w

Hunters Kitchen in South Boston serves straight-up comfort for the soul. Had the smoked spicy wings and fries-perfectly well-done with just the right crisp. Surprisingly everyone enjoyed their meals... you know it's ALWAYS one. We had a Louisiana native say Hunters gumbo was the best they've had in Boston. Only thing I would change is for the expo in the kitchen to wear gloves. She cut our avocados and placed them on the salad bare hands. Moving on. Loved the little details, like the water served in cool masonry jars that fit the whole rustic, homey vibe. It feels like the kind of spot you'd roll into with friends to watch the game or just shoot the breeze. Very "Cheers" vibes... and if you haven't seen the show, go look it up. Total neighborhood gem.

I’m so bummed about this place. I’ve eaten here several times on Uber Eats. Food is good. Seasoned. Blonde Waitress was so sweet. We came in for seated service and the decor and atmosphere was cute. Wood cabin chic. Here are my issues: -The biscuits aren’t traditional southern style biscuits, they’re like small cheese rolls, doughy not crumbly like a traditional biscuit. They were very well done almost burnt on the bottom. -The cornbread was corn soufflé or baked corn or corn pudding (goes by various names) if you will. Corn dish with whole cornel corn in it very soft, this is not cornbread which is denser. -Not the warmest welcome by the bartender when we walked in. My dining partner said they felt unwelcome. -There was a mouse no one on staff was alarmed about! Apparently he comes in an

During my workday, I sought collard greens through a delivery food application, which led me to this establishment. Upon receipt, the food was delivered in plastic containers, maintaining its warmth, which was greatly appreciated. The quality of the food was exceptional, prompting me to share my positive experience with my colleagues. I fully intend to place another order in the future. The accompanying image displays the rice and beans, collard greens, chipotle corn, and BBQ chicken.
