Hunan Chef 湘遇（Carrollton）

My husband and I ordered takeout the first time we tried Hunan chef and was impressed by their fried intestines! We have tried fried intestines from several Sichuan restaurants across North Dallas and use it to gauge how much we like the restaurant since we always order it. We dined in a second time and were blown away again! Everything was so good!!! We're so happy to have a good Sichuan place in Carrollton so we don't have to head over to Plano when the craving for the numbing peppercorn tongue hits. My only small complaint is that they're a bit conservative with the rice. My family eats rice with Sichuan dishes since they're so spicy and salty, and half a bucket for 3 adults is barely enough, especially when you're paying for the rice. OMG I love this restaurant! I have been here so many times and it is always amazing! My favorite dish is the fish soup whether it is spicy or not, it is always a hit! I definitely recommend coming here! Trust me it will not disappoint.

We got mashed eggplant and stir-fry pork with pepper to go, both of which are super authentic Hunan style. We request more chopped chili peppers and fermented black beans on it, and they make it really flavourful! Strong recommend their eggplant. We had a pleasant dinner experience with this restaurant.

My personal opinion about the authentic Hunan dishes are salty, spicy and oily. These dishes I ordered were right fit with the category. I love all dishes and took home left over then cooked with some fresh ingredients in my fridge. Perfect! BTW, the waitress Joanna was very nice. I will be back soon.

I dont know if its related to the one in Frisco but the dishes are quite similar. The menu is quite large and you will get lost trying to figure out what to get. Prices are on the high side and the portions are above average. The taste though is quite authentic and I cant get enough of the cauliflower.
