Huffman House Bed and Breakfast

Beautiful preserved historical home that is artfully decorated with lovely antiques. Our hosts were welcoming and attentive and very helpful with information about the area. We would highly recommend Huffman House.

Wonderful grounds, wonderful room, and wonderful hostess! Lovely overnight stay and what an excellent breakfast! I had biscuits w/andouille, and a spicy gravy - just a wonderful way to start the day. The hostess and her family were all helpful and great conversationalists. Quiet room - beautifully decorated house.

I had never been to a bed and breakfast before. But, compared to a hotel/motel (which I've been to several) the Huffman House was a nice change/experience. I've always admired older large homes and have wondered what it would be like to live in one. Our room, was very large with a 4-poster bed, a private bathroom with full bath and shower, a small refrigerator and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. My husband and I were there only for parts of three days as we were in Minden for a wedding. The time we spent was very relaxing as the grounds were in bloom with roses, azaleas and ferns. Sitting on the front porch having coffee and taking in the sites of other beautiful homes surrounding us was a real pleasure. Our hosts were very kind and made us feel welcomed and as valued guests. Such a gracious house! We booked the large king room, and it was a lovely roomy space. The private bathroom was quite pleasant and up to date. There was so much room and storage space that if I needed to, I could have spent weeks in this room without feeling cramped or deprived. Our hosts were informative and charming. We could have chatted with them for an hour. There's plenty of very safe off-street parking in a lovely neighborhood, the rooms and bathrooms are not just beautiful but roomy, and the breakfast and coffee were just what we needed, a real home-cooked meal. Plus, both of the Huffman properties (this one and Huffman Manor, two doors down) are historic and gracious old homes. Staying in either one (we've now stayed in both!) is a real treat.

I cannot speak more highly of this Bed and Breakfast. The owners Kim and Jim were great and provided one of a kind hospitality. When my husband and I arrived, Kim had a bottle of wine waiting for us in our room because she knew we were on our honeymoon. The room was nicely decorated with its own bathroom and the bed was comfortable. The Huffman House is also conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Minden which has some great restaurants and shoppes. Lastly, I cannot forget the breakfast. The breakfast was phenomenal. Definitely beats staying at a hotel. Thank you so much again to Kim and Jim!
