I had an overall good stay at this apartment. The location is fantastic—right in the middle of everything, with great coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants just steps away. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished with cozy decor and amazing lighting, making it perfect for working from home or reading a relaxing book. Sleeping under a lovely fiddle leaf fig added a whimsical touch. However, the host did have me running unexpected errands like visiting a sketchy post office and picking up dry cleaning, which made me feel more like an executive assistant. I was also asked to stay up late to help set up bike bags, so much manual labor! The elevator was another story—at one point, it had no floor label and later no lights, making it quite spooky. Despite these quirks, the apartment it
Great location, super close to everything you need! The complimentary matcha on weekend mornings was very delicious. Some guy showed up and kept insisting on watching Industry together though. Sleeping on the couch was comfortable despite the slowly ever widening chasm between the two pieces that let in a bit of a draft.
I had an amazing stay at Hrishy’s Couch. The property is located close to great coffee/matcha (we tried Mya & Brooklyn, Qahwah House, Kijitora), restaurants, and the L line! It also had great light, with its south-facing floor-to-ceiling windows, which made it a relaxing place to hang out and read a book. I particularly enjoyed the rain showerhead, Hinoki hand soap, and access to amenities like the espresso machine and specialty teas/electrolye drinks.
When I first arrived I wasn’t sure how the night was going to go. Upon entry into the space, I was immediately forced into manual labor. Then, I was strong-armed into going to some random overhyped pizza chain for dinner. However, the night started to turn around after Hrish made me a great yuzu whiskey sour. The couch was also pretty comfortable. Manual Labor: 2.3/10 Pizza from overhyped pizza chain: 5.2/10 Soft serve from overhyped pizza chain: 9.9/10 “The Mind” Card game: 8.9/10 Hrish’s Yuzu Whiskey Sour: 8.8/10 Couch: 7.4/10 P.S. the Yuzu Whiskey Sour was only $27 (before tip)! What a steal in NYC!
Probably one of the better bnbs in Brooklyn, modern and spacious, and mccarren park kind of at your doorstep. Only advice is I might avoid asking host about local food options, as he’ll always suggest Breeze which I think he works for.
