House of Dragon

I visited this restaurant a couple of years ago as part of a tour group. Many tour buses seem to stop here because they offer a discounted rate for large groups. I understand that it is a convenient and affordable stop, and I appreciate that it can bring back memories for people who have visited in the past. However, I personally had a disappointing experience with the buffet. As a proud Chinese Canadian, I found the food to be the least flavorful I have ever had in a Chinese-style restaurant. The dishes were extremely bland and lacked any seasoning or depth of taste. Unfortunately, I even felt slightly unwell afterward. While I cannot confirm whether that was due to the food, it did add to my negative impression. I was also concerned about the hygiene at the buffet. I remember noticing

We did takeaway and didn’t get what we ordered (no shrimp). Further the sweet and sour ribs were so tough you couldn’t chew them and covered with huge pieces of fat. Not sure where the sauce was. It is like they had sat under a heat lamp for days. The eggs rolls also were dried out. I felt like we were eating two day old buffet food that had sat out for days. We actually had to throw it out. Uneatable. $70.00 for chicken fried rice and an order of chicken balls as that is all that was ate for 5 people. Unacceptable

I wouldn't eat-in as the restaurant itself doesn't have much of an atmosphere but we have had takeaways a number of times and have enjoyed the food every time. The garlic and chili chicken wings are delicious as is the moo shui pork. The combination platters are good value for money.

Decent chinese buffet restaurant considering it is located in Gananoque, close to the 401. Average selection and quality of Asian style dishes, with french fries and ice cream. Also included in the price is tea, coffee and pop. I would recommend given the affordable price and decent selection. But if you're looking for good quality chinese food, a buffet isn't the place to go.

We when to eat at dragon house and the person was nice, they also done a meal that was not on the menu. Friendly place.
