Hot Cakes Cafe And Lodging

What a great room. I travel during the summer season doing road work, and I live in hotel/motels for 6-7 months each year. This motel is one of the nicest hometown motels I've had the pleasure of staying in, and Greg the owner is on site, and a great guy. I will absolutely be staying here moving forward anytime I am in the area. Thanks for having me. Word from local friends is that the food is fantastic. It was recommended to try the Burgers.

Not too impressed but it was CLEAN! That's the main concern I have when traveling. For some reason there were no hand towels in the bathroom so we used the wash cloths. There was only 1 little garbage can in the bathroom...none in the main room. Our room had a nice TV, microwave and little fridge. The toilet seat would shift so you had to take a little care with that. The window handle was broken and there was a gap around the window so a lot of little (I mean really tiny) bugs were coming in (so one wash cloth was used to plug that up). The cafe is attached so that was nice. Breakfast was good. Good service. Beautiful city park right across the road. If I stayed again I'd request room 8 or 9. I think they were newer and right next to but kind of separate from the main motel.

Went for breakfast as a quick choice. So glad we did. Service was astonishing. Quickly greeted and served a hot wonderful breakfast. Loved the sausage patties and you did my eggs perfect. What a treat for a small town as I could tell the regulars all knew each other. Loved it!!!

Great breakfast. Nancy was fun to have as our server. Good bunch at the round table.

I honestly didn’t know places like this mom and pop style of diner still existed today. 13 of us construction guys walked in and despite not expecting us. We all had our drinks within 5 mins, our food was being served over the next 15-20 minutes and everyone enjoyed what felt like a homemade meal. Nobody walked away hungry. They even had a choice of two pies, which was fantastic. The price was reasonable with our meals costing around $12 total with drink. Definitely worth the drive to check it out for yourself.
