Hoshi Sushi

Wanted to like this neighborhood sushi restaurant. So disappointed. Miso soup was super salty. Half of my sushi was stringy and fishy. Salmon teriyaki was over cooked and dry. Though the tempura was done right. Very light. The waiter was rude and inflexible. Watch out on the preset tip amounts that are all jacked up. My bill was 93 with tax. Yet the 18 percent tip option showed 18.45. Complete ripoff. Will not be back

1-23-23 Going in I didn't want to have any expectations especially after reading the reviews. With a level mind I went. I ordered the Gyoza and Seared Tuna as the starters. Then the Tequila roll, the Super Crunch, Spicy Tuna, and Hamachi Nigiri. Gyoza was fully fried all around. I like my Gyoza to be crispy on the bottom and soft on top. it was still good, just not as good as it should be. Seared tuna was fantastic with great umami and a nice spicy chili note. The combination of the seasoned oil and tender thin slices of tuna really was a pleasure. My family loved the Super Crunch and it was our most favorite. The Tequila roll was also really good. The Spicy Tuna was okay. I liked that the spicy mayo sauce for it was really not mayo but their own take vs the heavy mayo sauces usually used

Delightful experience at this new family-owned sushi joint where Taka once sat. Minimalistic interior paired with high-quality, melt in your mouth sushi. The sashimi was deliciously fresh and generously sliced, classic rolls were perfect. The Bear and Lobster tempura rolls were also impressive and creative. Service was attentive and friendly. The chefs even surprised us with a special plate. Absolute hidden gem!

I'm not a sushi connoisseur by any means. However, my wife is. As a person that doesn't eat sushi, the plate that I got was mediocre at best. The noodles were definitely interesting. The sushi is being reported as good but nothing to write home about. Where this place falls off the ledge is the price that we paid at the end of the meal for what we received. Expect to be paying a very big bill for not bad sushi. I'm being told for the price that we paid for dinner, we could have gone to another sushi restaurant that would be far superior.

Their sushi is some of the freshest in the area, and the imported Toro is very flavorful. All of their food is very decadent, but it also comes at a hefty price tag. They offer welcoming services, and a clean cozy atmosphere.
