The guy at the front is always so kind and the food is always fresh and made well. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The food is a bit pricey as a heads up, but it’s worth it.

My employer has a new office in this area and I came across this place by accident while looking in Google maps for “food near me”. Wow! This was such a great find! It has a no frills appearance as you enter but the food is awesome! I was struck by the friendly greeting of the attendant at the counter while I looked at the menu screens. I picked the catfish and shrimp combo which arrived at my table after several minutes. This was a good sign because I could tell it had been cooked to order. It was hot and fresh and everything tasted great. It was easily on par with a high end fish house restaurant. The two catfish slabs were crispy but not over breaded. My coworkers rant about this little spot because of how close it is, so I figured I’d give it a shot before I started work one day. Absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. I got the shrimp and catfish value meal and it came out to 16.00 and it was the best 16 dollars I’ve ever spent. The catfish is seasoned and breaded beautifully and the shrimp is really good. They seem to have homemade tartar sauce that pairs perfectly with the fish. I got two house slabs of catfish and 8 pieces of shrimp and a handful of fries…. For 16 dollars and some change it’s a steal of a deal. I keep coming back. I have to fight myself to stop coming here everyday when I work😂..because good food is hard to come by especially at this great of a value. Highly recommend to anybody looking for a change in

I was just passing through the area and had a craving for shrimp. I looked up the closest spot and came across Hooks. After taking the first bite I immediately went back upon memory lane to 1985 when I was in Corpus Christi, Texas. A dozen Jumbo shrimp was $2.36 with fries then but the taste was exactly the same. I’ll definitely be back.

I stopped by Hooks on Jolly Lane in Brooklyn Park for some fish, and now I've got a new favorite local gem. The fish was fried to perfection .. crispy, seasoned with lemon pepper, and full of flavor. The shrimp was also solid, but the hush puppies stole the show. Easily some of the best I've had in a while. And here's the cherry on top: they carry all kinds of Faygo flavors, which instantly brought back the best memories. A whole vibe. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, and the staff was super kind and welcoming. Great food, great people , I'll definitely be back soon.
