I really enjoyed my experience at Hook and Lime! I thought my vegetarian Impossible & Potato empanadas were delicious. I thought there were a couple of good vegetarian options - that I’d love to come back again and try out! I would say my crispy sweet potato tacos were okay. I liked the idea…but the texture and flavor perhaps could be improved. I think my fellow table mates generally enjoyed their meal. Somewhat Americanized for their taste. But I enjoyed the flavors of my dishes!! Worth trying out!
If you’re looking for a decent Mexican restaurant, this is it. We got enchiladas with green sauce, chicken sandwich and churros and chocolate for the desert. Everything was very good. I really loved my enchiladas. It’s a nice cozy place with good interior and the server was very helpful. He explained every dish with knowledge and patience. Definitely coming back:)
I had a really nice experience at Hook & Lime. It’s a good spot with a relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes you feel comfortable right away. I appreciated that they offer vegan options, which are not always easy to find, and it’s clear they’ve put thought into making their menu more inclusive. The overall atmosphere is enjoyable, the space feels well taken care of, and it’s a great place to go whether you’re with friends or just grabbing a casual meal. I’d definitely come back when I’m in Omaha.
We visited on 5/25/25 before we went over to the Big 10 Championship baseball game where Nebraska was playing UCLA. Service was incredibly SLOW!! I get it that they’re close to the stadium, but hire more help for these days or get food out more quickly. We were there about 90 minutes total. The prices are really expensive for the quality of food you get. I travel often and live in San Antonio and the food quality did not match the price. It was bland. I’ve found a similar trend with other Mexican restaurants like this…trying to be fancy but really mess up the food and make it tasteless. The chips are thick and I prefer a lighter chip. Plus the tortilla was cold and needed to be cooked/warmed up. Give me a good hole in the wall Mexican restaurant with authentic food with flavor, not this.
My mom, fiancé and I came in yesterday morning for the first time and we really enjoyed our visit here. Our server Pono B was attentive, friendly, over all by far the best service we’ve had in a long time. The staff was friendly they all made frequent stops to our table. The food was fresh, my drink was on point, their 3 homemade salsas hit every note. Over all delicious! We will come back and we highly recommend.
