Honey Hole

Stopped here on the way back from visiting friends in the area. This is a fairly large gas station and convenience store with a kitchen. Other than standard snacks drinks and beverages, they have a hot bar and a kitchen that cranks out some decent food. While I didn't try the BBQ, I could smell the smoker. We got a shrimp poboy, a corn dog, and several varieties or meat pies and boudin. The shrimp poboys was good, but on the salty side, and heavy on the mayo for my taste. The bread was surprisingly good. The corn dog had cheese and jalapenos but was not spicy. The boudin and the meat pies stole the show. Even while not being fresh out the fryer, they were really good. Some of the best boudin I've had, well spiced, not salty and not that weird mushy texture that they can sometimes

⬆️The Ups⬆️ The store has been remodel with the new owners and the staff is friendly and nice. (Finnaly not banned) The menu is the same but the prices are better. (Instead of a $12 Poboy, it's $9) Cleanish bathrooms but it's a gas station. 🤷‍♂️ Foods hot and very good and is a great lunch idea. They have ice cream (scooped and milkshakes) 🍦🥪🥩🍗 No more Crawfish Does have DoorDash options 🚗 Typical beer options 🍺 ⬇️Downside⬇️ Seems to be no communication with front house and kitchen. (Ordered something that they didn't have, waited, Only for the girl to finally tell me they were out. 🤦 A very long wait.. ( Didn't order much for the wait to be 40 minutes) 🕛🕕🕑

I guess they got bought out since I've been there last. Two Middle Eastern men, the one getting the food had such a strong accent I didn't understand him. Very rude, they need to take down their "prettiest cashiers on the coast" sign cause he wasn't 🤣

The sign said big fat juicy cheeseburgers so we pulled over the smell of delicious food as soon as you come in the door... We tried the gator bites and grabbed ice cream. For just a gas station that's totally four stars. Fair price and smiling staff

Employees are disrespectful to customers. I will never come back. I will tell anyone I know about my experience and how I was treated. One specific employee big hair and big eyes. Rude is a understatement. I even asked him twice what he said. No excuses for his behavior.
