Honey Belly

We stopped at Honey Belly Korean BBQ on our way back home toward LA after visiting Hearst Castle, and it was such a great surprise. They told us the restaurant has only been open for about four months, so everything is brand new. All the equipment is up to date, and the ventilation above the grill is really strong, so the smoke gets pulled away quickly and you don’t leave smelling like BBQ. I was especially impressed that all the meat orders are done digitally from the tablet at the table. You don’t have to flag anyone down – you can just keep ordering as you go, which is so convenient. KBBQ is my favorite food, I’m from LA so I’ve tried the really good stuff. So maybe that’s why it all tasted pretty bland, the meats, the sides, everything. I was sad the kimchi was not flavorful and I love when they have cucumber kimchi. Even my white rice was just not right. The tastiest thing was my cherry Pepsi perfect icy temperature and taste. It all looks good. But the taste just was not there. Service is okay. The vibes are really cute though, looks like they took a lot of time creating a great atmosphere.

My husband surprised me today and brought me here! It was AMAZING. Id really like to shine some light on Ms Scarlett...she is OUTSTANDING. As my husband and I enjoyed our amazing all you can eat course, we saw this young lady continue to check on EVERY table, constantly. All other staff did as well. Her verbiage, demeanor, and kind caring tone .. sets her apart from her peers. I just wanted someone to know , we noticed . Absolutely outstanding atmosphere , food, drinks ? Honestly cannot remember the last time I had such a calm and pleasant meal with my husband for more than half hour. What a EXPERIENCE. thank you all so much. Well, I'll give them good effort with it still being new and working out the kinks for a first in SLO. But my review at this time is not so great from my visit. The wait time was as expected, but not a terrible amount of time to wait, about 35 mins for showing up at 5:50pm on a Monday. Surprisingly there's quite a lot of tables for this building space. Very nice presentation and set-up waited for us as we were seated. On a closer look though, I found the dishes very spotty with what I'm hoping was water marks. The dishes didn't look exactly clean and the water cups were not impressive. Not just water marks on the inside and out, but when we filled our glasses there was a very noticeable film in every water cup on the table. After it was addressed by the wait staff, clean cups were brought.
