Homestead Market is one of those small-town spots you’re genuinely glad exists. It’s a little stand here in Blue Eye, but the quality of what they make is on another level. Their fresh sourdough is what will keep you coming back. You can literally smell it when you walk up. It has that perfect crust, soft inside, and you can tell it’s made the right way, slowly, with real ingredients, not rushed or commercial. There’s something about buying sourdough from a place where you know the people who made it actually put the time into the process. It tastes like something you’d expect from a real homestead kitchen. It’s the kind of bread you can eat on its own, toast up, or build a whole meal around. Loved this little roadside gem! If you’re anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop at here their sourdough is delicious. Crispy crust, soft center, and that perfect sour kick that only comes from real, slow-fermented sourdough. You can tell everything is made with care and love. It’s a small operation, but the quality is phenomenal. On top of everything else the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable made me feel right at home. You don’t just leave with bread you leave with a smile!
