Visited today. I got food from the hot bar. The fried chicken isn't seasoned. The macaroni and cheese was super bland. The brussel sprouts were amazing. The pineapple upside cake was absolutely horrible. It tastes like cornbread. 👎🏿
A new delight at every turn. I cannot believe I’ve never been here before. I was impressed immediately upon walking in but I wasn’t expecting it to keep getting better. The cakes were gorgeous, good quality bread, amazing ready to eat meals, super friendly staff, coffee and peanuts that can be ground on the spot. And they also still manage to carry all of the standard brands. This place did not disappoint! I’ll definitely be coming back and I recommend that you all do too!
I love their salads and homemade dressings. It is nice to see how they support small businesses and girl scouts too. Staff and managers seem to like their jobs and they are very helpful if you need them.
This store is definitely a gem to the area of Royal Oak but I’ve noticed the fruit to be drastically overpriced for the proportions, esp compared to Westborn Market up the street. At Holiday Market a medium cup of cut pineapple is around $7, at Westborn Market the whole pineapple precut is $5 to $7 each time. Then I decided to try the burnt ends, although those were also overpriced, 8 pieces (each piece the size of my pinkie ) for $30, I decide to try the 5 pieces for $17 …. these were dry, tasted like they were cooked in the oven and very greasy. Burnt ends are cooked from leftover portions, I cannot fathom them costing that amount to be that dry, it tasted like gentrification… Then I got the grits, the cheese was hard on the bottom and there’s no telling how old those were.
I was there the day before Thanksgiving grabbing some pre-cooked turkey for the holiday. It was very busy, as you would imagine, and a man named Reco took care of me and he was wonderful! He was friendly, had a big smile on his face, was calm amongst the chaos, and was very helpful! The cashier was also lovely, although I can’t remember her name. Great experience!
