Historic Salyards Mansion by Heirloom Boutique Collection

This place is a treat- get yourself a room, soak, relax. My room had a fireplace, incredibly comfy bed, soaking tub. Easy to imagine you’re a queen in this place. Drink coffee in sunroom- such a great way to start the day. Highly recommend.

This is not a typical review, because our stay started off rough but ended very well. There are five rooms in the main house and one room over the garage. I booked two rooms, and we were the only guests on the property. When we arrived, we had to call customer service to figure out how to access the rooms. The first room in the main house was very nice, so I let my daughter take it. When I went to check into my room, I discovered it was the room over the garage. Unfortunately, it was completely unacceptable. The room smelled strongly of bug spray, had old carpet, and even a bathtub sitting in the middle of the room covered with plastic. It was absolutely unfit to be associated with a “mansion” and felt more like something a struggling college student would stay in. I tried calling custo

Great stay at Salyard Mansion in Duluth,MN. The neighborhood is very quiet and they offer parking behind the mansion. Having an outdoor hot steam sauna was a great perk in a cold night! We stayed at the Salyard room and it was very nice. The room offered a fireplace and a combo whirpool/shower.....would not recommend this room for people with mobility issues.

The hotel really felt like home. The room and common areas were beautifully decorated and there was a very relaxing atmosphere. You can sit by the fireplace downstairs and enjoy classical music while reading a book or sit in the sunroom in the morning to enjoy your coffee. Angie and her husband have done a great job in maintaining this place. She welcomed us when we arrived. The reason I know her name is because I got curious and searched for the management and read their story. The room was very clean and cozy. If you are into jacuzzi, it is huge! You will love it. The surrounding is beautiful and you can see the deer roaming around in the neighborhood. We also enjoyed the sunrise view. The only issue was the iffy WiFi but everything else was really good.

What a perfect stay. I couldn't be more satisfied. We felt so rejuvenated after just a weekend of enjoying the property. The attention to detail by the staff was impressive. What a charming relic from a bigone era, we feel lucky to have experienced. We're already planning another trip to the Salyard Mansion!
