Hippie's Pizza

While there isn't a ton of competition for the post-midnight pizza demographic, they'd still be my pick. They're exactly what you expect from a pizza joint that named themselves "Hippies" and put deep-fried hot dogs called Scooby Snacks on their menu, and they're authentic about it. They may have the longest menu I've seen at a pizza place, too, with a ton of premade options, and lots to play with to build your own. You want to get weird with your pizza? They're already there with you. Want to get some deep-fried pickles, with honey and pineapple cooking? They got it. You want good ol' pepperoni and cheese, but stuff it in a calzone instead? Please, everyone in this kitchen, note how WET vegan cheese is and how AWFUL a thin, weak crust is beneath this wet mess. We need better vegan options in RO, I am begging you.

Lived here for a few years and always saw this place but never tried it - due to 4.1 I wasn't sure, but so glad we gave it a try. This is probably our new favorite pizza place in the Royal Oak area and we have been to so many places - we try almost everything. My GAWD every pie we have eaten here so far (4) has been so so delicious and perfect. Definitely give it a go!

Really fantastic vegan deep dish pizza!! They were so nice after my pizza exploded while in their oven and my order got delayed. They gave me a full refund for the wait/inconvenience and a free extra order of Sin Stix!! I recommend both!! The dough they use is amazing.

Amazing selection of unique pizzas. Cooked with passion. Same guys always working there. Pretty sure it’s the owner. Always timely even when busy. Hidden gem. You won’t be disappointed. Round crust is perfectly flakey.
