Higginson Farms Mercantile

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If meaning is fleeting and certainty is a rumor, Higginson Farms Mercantile is doing a pretty solid job of making the time between beginning and end more pleasant. We stopped in as a family and gravitated, as all beings eventually do, toward the coffee and ice cream bar. The kids chose ice cream with the kind of confidence only the young or the unburdened possess. I followed suit. It was excellent—cold, comforting, briefly convincing me that joy might be a renewable resource. It melted, of course. As all things do. The mercantile side is thoughtfully stocked with merchandise from local makers, which gives the place a sense of rootedness, like a community saying, “We’re here right now, and this is what we make.” One mug caught my eye that read, “Living proof of a loving God.”

Fantastic little country store/farmers market. I was quite surprised with their variety of goods. It's definitely worth visiting. I found this brand of coffee which I had never seen before, it is really good. The harmony lavender farm essential oil smells like you just laid down in a lavender field.

I can't tell you how happy I am. Higginson's has come to Carmi. Those beef steak hamburgers are so good!!!!! It's great it's a small town buisness and it supports other small buisness by selling their handmade or farm raised products as well. Support your small business!

Great little gem in the country. We got a sample of so many things. Meat, cheese, popcorn(so fresh, try the blueberry creme), granola, beef jerky, baked goods (they come in fresh on Tuesday), jelly, molasses, and pickled vegetables. We opened the popcorn on the way home. Delicious!

Very nice place with good help from the people. They make sure you find what you need and if there are any items you don't know about they let you know where it came from and all that! Very good selection of products. Very warming to your heart to be in there too. Loved it.
