Hickory Pit Bar-B-Que

It's nice, small, and quite bbq place. Staff is very welcoming and pleasant. However, meat was not as good as advertised. I wouldn't call it "top 5 in TN" 🙂🙃

Really great family owned and operated BBQ joint—seriously! CJ is working in the kitchen, bringing his grandpa's recipes to life. He's even got a burger named after him on the menu! Seriously good food (I had the chopped pork, with their house made dry rub and BBQ sauce, corn on the cob, and fried okra.) Delicious, meat was smokey and moist. Sides hit the spot. Small plate was a great portion size, and reasonably priced! Dining room felt like going to my grandma's—homey. Definitely recommend stopping in. It's near the shuttle stop, and if you're visiting, the family is super friendly and offers great local recommendations.

Our family-of-3 agreed to try Hickory Pit Bar-B-Que for dinner as part of our overnight stay at an East Ridge hotel, and we were all very pleased with our dining choice. Thecrestaurant is a small building with a simply furnished inside dining area & a front porch with seating & a wrap-around drive-thru lane. We were greeted very cordially by the owner Jason as soon as we entered, and he was friendly & attentive as our table server. Two of us ordered the BBQ Pork Sandwich (green beans & tater tots as sides), while our 3rd diner had the Chopped Pork Plate (baked beans, corn on the cob) plus an order of Onion Rings for our group. All of our food was perfectly prepared & delicious, and our housemade lemonades & a fruit-flavored beer were all refreshing. We would definitely return to Hick

The BBQ Beef was delicious and moist. The hickory smoked flavor was very evident. I also had coleslaw, baked beans and potatoe salad, all of which were good, especially the potato salad. The owner was very friendly. I will definitely go back.

Such a hidden gem! Delicious food, awesome service, nice and cool inside. It's hard to find good barbeque, baked beans and coleslaw but baby let me tell you, they are amazing! I got the chicken barbeque baked potato and it also came with 2 sides. The food is very affordable too! A friend suggested we go there and I'm afraid he started something ☝🏽. I only got a picture of the appetizers because we inhaled the main course. My husband said the ribs have a good smoked flavor not too heavy on the seasonings.
