Heron Books

We are on our 2nd year of homeschooling and finding secular material can be challenging. I found Heron Books on Instagram and we tried out The Fabulous Human Body Anatomy for Young Scientists. I really appreciated the simple style. It has made all the difference. Although the unit is geared towards Grades 4-6 (ages 9-12) I was able to do it with my 4th grader age 10 as well as my Kindergartener age 6. We usually do Science and Social studies family-style. The best part of this set was definitely the flash cards. What a great visual resource where one can easily identify the “part of the body”. The learning guide is nice and simple for the “teacher/parent” as well, but did not feel it was absolutely necessary. It is certainly great to give you ideas to identify and connect with the materia

We recently completed the Young Explorer's Circulation and the Blood study. I have been homeschooling for over 16 years and have tried a LOT of curriculum. I really enjoyed using this curriculum guide. The text was very colorful and engaging, without compromising its integrity and studiousness. I really enjoyed the great mix of reading and hands-on activities. I felt that all of the different learning styles were represented in the activities. As a mother of 7, I greatly appreciated that this guide was designed for the student to be able to learn independently. The checklist broke the subject matter up into manageable chunks interspersed with great review activities and includes regular checkpoints where the student should bring his materials to the teacher for inspection. Heron Books has written much of the curriculum my two children have used throughout their elementary, middle and high school educations. As a kid, many of my text books were stuffy or difficult to understand. Heron’s books are engaging, thorough, and simple to understand. Recently, they’ve upped their game and have fantastic illustrations in all the new materials. I’m excited for more children to study with these beautiful and educational materials!

I'm an educator and absolutely LOVE Heron's materials. They provide such great illustrations which show the concepts being taught. This, even on its own, makes learning so much more engaging. The use of learning guides has been revolutionary too. A classroom of students never progress at exactly the same pace all the time. The learning guides help each student study at their own speed so they can take the time they need to achieve understanding of the subject being taught. Simply the best curriculum one can obtain for learning a given subject. Every book has a considerable amount of learning technology embedded in the book/course combination. These are great courses for young students and adults alike. The electronics lineup can be particularly useful for an adult crossing over into a tech field like robotics. It will put a solid foundation under the students feet so that they can advance smoothly. Having worked with some of the top educators in the world I know this greatly improves the efficiency of education. Most public education is extremely inefficient in its current model.
