Not having dim sum in the restaurant’s name definitely hurts this place with non-chinese potential customers, but maybe its better that way as this rather unassuming diner could not possibly handle the kind of rush / crowd the other locations get during convention weekends. But I think if you have a late night crazing for dim sum, specifically chicken feet and soup dumplings, this is one of the bests in china town I was genuinely blown away at how good the chicken feet was at 8pm on a thursday, and their soup dumplings were one of the best in philly china town. Its soup was savory, sweet, and not too oily, and the dumpling peels were a bit thicker, clearly hand made, with a nice qq texture. Their freshly made potstickers and cucumber salad were also incredible. I would argue they were m
Heng Feng restaurant has a very small, cozy space, but we were seated quickly which I appreciated. The food itself was absolutely delicious definitely the highlight of the visit. However, the service could have been a bit more attentive. Our server didn’t really check on us, and when I asked a question about my dumplings (which looked a little different than others I noticed), I didn’t receive a response. On the plus side, the bathrooms were very clean and the total for everything came out to about $40, which felt reasonable for what we ordered. One thing to note because the space is small, noise carries a lot. There was a baby crying for most of our meal, so I probably wouldn’t recommend this spot for guests with infants. Overall, great food and fast seating, but the service and environ
This place reminds me of home cooking! Unfortunately I did not take a picture of my food this time around. The meal was very delicious that I didnt think to take a picture. I had the #61 Braised steak Noodle Soup with rice stick noodles. The broth was very clean and flavorful. The meat was clean and tender. My fiancé had the #60 House Special noodle soup with rice stick noodles. We also had the shrimp rolls. They were very crispy and crunchy. It was hot throughout my whole meal. My only complain was #60 had a few too many beef tendon. Overall the meal is the type of meal that gives you strength from a long day. By the end of my meal I felt I gain energy. Thank you so much. God bless your business.
Standard Chinese restaurant, wasn’t mind blowing. - Crispy fried chicken Taiwanese style ($8): 9/10, great texture and flavor - Pork wonton w/ chili sauce ($7.95): 6/10, just okay - Shanghai pan fried pork soup dumplings ($8.95): Don’t remember but prob good
I recommend eating here while visiting Chinatown. I got #72 ox stomach noodle soup. It was amazing. I love the vibes of this place. I recommend trying the cooling mango drink. Our waitress was very nice and service was great. Definitely would come back here again.
