Henderson Village

We had Mother's Day dinner on Saturday night at the Carriage House Restaurant at Henderson Village and it was incredible. One of the best steaks I have had. Garlic mashed potatoes were reeeaaal good also. I had the Filet, wife had prime rib. The prime rib was ordered medium rare but I think it arrived medium well but it was still good. My filet was like butter, seriously, could have cut it with a fork. The bread was really good and cheesecake was awesome- but share it if you order as it's a large slice. My mom-in-law had the shrimp and grits and she really enjoyed it. The atmosphere it so nice and relaxing. We were double booked for a room and told that there was no available room for us to stay. When the manager was notified she told her employ to stop calling her. The employee put us in a room after I pressured her, dispite the fact I was putting someone else out. When I checked in my room wasn't cleaned. The employee was great but management was completely rude.

Henderson Village is absolutely beautiful. Every cottage, every room is exquisitely frozen in time. The landscape that surrounds the pool is serene and peaceful. The restaurant has friendly staff, southern style. It was an anniversary I will never forget & we are already planning our next weekend visit.

I inquired into this property recently only to learn that it is closed to B&B travel. It is now an event venue, with lodging. When it was viable it was one of my favorite destinations in the world. Quaint, clean, beautiful and relaxing. I will mourn the loss.
