Hemphill BBQ

Heard about this place for years. Finally got to try the barbeque. Very good barbeque! All the food was very good and they serve some very tasty home made pies. I'll be eating here weekly now that I'm moving to the lake. Salute to the pit master and a big smile to the lady whom makes those heavenly pies.

Awesome food and great group of people! Didn't get a picture of the ribs before they disappeared. 😅 Even the fur baby got to enjoy some great food. The praline cheesecake and stuffed potato was amazing. Thank you very much! Next time I'm buying a whole cheesecake! 😋

Texas BBQ. I had to check this place out. The boudin link had a casing that snapped, real deal, not like the plastic kind. I don’t know if it was real or not. I was unable to get a picture of the tender turkey breast we had. Not dry at all. I got the three meat plate. The chicken had a light smoke flavor and was otherwise slightly bland of salt and pepper, but putting it in the sauce made it. The sausage was good, and the brisket had the same flavor profile as the chicken, but was perfectly cooked. The potato salad didn’t have much, if any, egg, which is why I liked it so much. The camp/ranch style beans were just slightly aldente, but perfection none the less. The ribs were tender, not fatty, and perfectly seasoned. Their pies though.... the bread pudding pie was out of sight awesome,

I have been going to the Hemphill BBQ for a few years now and I love their moist brisket and all the pies they make in house. The owners, Charles and Larry are great people and love to engage the customers in conversation. The staff are fantastic. Those ladies work hard and it shows (make sure you tip). I highly recommend this place when you are in the Hemphill area.

Excellent food. I always get the BBQ potato, and my husband gets the rib plate, and the food is always fresh and delicious. The pies are also amazing.
