The best Bagel place in East Bay!! I love how fresh it is! Also their seasonal menu options, very local! We are blessed by Hella Bagels existence!!! My favorite: city nights on everything bagel (toasted & open)!!!! Oh can’t can’t forget to mention about their fresh squeezed orange juice and Thai Iced Tea!!!
I stopped by on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy! But bigger than I thought too. They have a nice little outdoor seating section and the staff were friendly and the food was bomb. Will be back
Great atmosphere and one of the best bagel sandwiches I’ve ever had! So fresh and so delicious! We ordered ahead for pickup to avoid the wait and I highly recommend! I got the iced matcha latte and City Nights sandwich (a spin on a lox sandwich) and it was delicious!
Hella Bagels in Berkeley is hands-down one of the best spots for bagel lovers in the Bay Area. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, and the bagels are seriously next level—chewy, fresh, and packed with flavor. I tried the lox bagel, and it was everything you’d hope for: a generous layer of silky, rich lox paired with perfectly whipped cream cheese, red onions, capers, and tomato on a fresh, chewy bagel. The balance of textures and flavors was spot on—simple, classic, and absolutely delicious. If you’re looking to branch out, I’d also recommend trying the egg and cheese bagel—a savory favorite—or their whitefish salad, which is super flavorful and satisfying. They also have rotating specials that are worth keeping an eye on, often with creative twists on traditional combos. Definitely wo
Spacious and light filled welcoming seating area. Good portion of Lox (salmon) bagel with lovely thick layer of cream cheese, red onion, dill and capers. Glad the cashier advised me the open face option has double the amount of filling than a closed one. Very satisfying bagel - fresh and soft chewy texture. I shared half of the open face bagel with a friend and we were both full. It is a little pricier than a regular deli bagel but I am happy about the quality. I may come back for a weekend treat once in a while.
