Hector's NY Pizza

This hidden gem right on Gunn Highway was a pleasant surprise. The staff is super friendly. We got garlic knots to start and they were crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. The garlic butter and parmesan topping was generously basted over them with enough in the tray to go back for some shopping. The pizza was cooked perfectly, with a nice brown undercarriage. The sauce is tangy and flavorful, and the cheese is fantastic quality. Overall, I highly recommend trying Hector's if you are in or near the area. It is very good pizza and you should always support local establishments. We will be back!

I checked out Hector’s NY Pizza for the first time as my spot closed that was down the street from my house. Tampa has a lot of NY pizza shops and some are really good and some are just okay. This one is off Gunn Highway between Limbaugh and Anderson and with good service. The gentleman welcome me as I walked in and when I told him that my normal shop closed he asked questions and then thanked me for coming I ordered the traditional lunch special with 2 slices of pizza and a soda for $7.99. Stool with original cheese slices as that is always a staple. The pizza was about a 6, but I did to at the end of lunch. I would like to try a fresh whole pie for the true experience. Overall staff were great, pizza was good and the vibes were chill. I’ll be back for another try in the future.

The absolute best!! I’ve never liked garlic knots until having them here, they were the best ever. Full of flavor and fluffy. Also got a meatball sub which was generous, meatballs taste so good, bread was perfectly toasted while also still fluffy, plenty of cheese, sauce doesn’t taste cheap like some places.

I experimented a bit and Googled "pizza near me" to try and find something different... I was NOT disappointed. This place isn't really "near" me but I'm willing to make the drive again. Sorry... I am not one to take pics of my food, at least beforehand, so I already ate some but the pics show the presentation is even 5-stars. White pizza but added spinach, tomatoes, and bacon; side of cheese toast. Definitely recommend!
