Hawk N Dove Capitol Hill DC

We found Hawk ‘n Dove on Google Maps at the end of a day full of walking, museums and sightseeing. So glad we stopped in. Great food, atmosphere and music. We heard several songs including some Kings of Leon, Sublime, Incubus and Edwin, our server, was friendly and helpful with the menu. It was relatively slow as could be expected since it was a Monday during the shutdown. We had drinks and spilt two meals; the Hot Honey Pepperoni & Sausage Pinsa and the Spicy Pickle Brine Fried Chicken Sandwich (long name with even longer flavor. lol).

A lovely experience for once I decided to have dinner solo. The welcome was warm, and the dishes I ordered were delicious (though I’d vote for a little less salt). I had the pleasure of going upstairs afterward for the karaoke session and never felt excluded at any moment. I truly enjoyed it.

Nov 2025: Tasty lunch next to the Capitol. Between the pizza and the crabcake sandwich; everything was awesome. Even the fries are cut and salted superbly.

Everything in this restaurant was on POINT. After a LONG day advocating on the Hill this place was a great place to sit down, recap on great moments, team bond and enjoy a great meal and drink! ❤️ 100/10 recommend and I WILL be back the next time I’m on Capital Hill! 🥳

Food was great! Service was horrible. It took them an hour to get us our food. And in between that time they actively avoided our table. No reassurances that the food was being made or anything like that. The people before us received and finished their meals after we had ordered, and the people after us had received and ate most their meals by the time our food arrived. We think it was bc our friend ordered a specific menu item, but if it’s going to take that long the waiter/waitress should have notified us of that. And maybe not avoided us for a full hour. The vibes are good though, nice and a great place to rest especially after walking all day. However it was super cold inside. By the time you’d get used to the temperature again the door would open and you’d be back shivering. At least
