Hawg Wild BBQ & Catfish House of Hiawassee

Delicious food! Cozy seating with a bar. Inside and outside seating. I had the pulled pork plate with fries and Brunswick stew as sides and my girlfriend had the brisket plate with fried squash and onion rings. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

It didn't look like much on the outside, and we weren't sure we could have much of a lake view since it's set far enough back, but actually it was great. There is plenty of view from the inside and the bbq is legit really good. They even had a small handful of decently rated beer, which I have to say I didn't expect. Yeah this place is great.

Found this gem on a road trip. The views are 10/10! Food was perfect, pulled pork, catfish, mac, vinegar slaw, collards were all fantastic! Gotta try the brisket/cheese stuffed jalapeno poppers w/ blueberry bbq dipping...ridiculous!

Might be some of the best barbecue I've had recently. We got ribs and brisket which were both incredible, the ribs especially were a highlight! They literally fell of the bone as soon as we picked them up, and they tasted delicious even without sauce. The fried pickles and french fries were also very good, the only slightly negative thing was that the Mac and cheese was a bit bland. As for the atmosphere it was very pleasant and where we sat had a gorgeous view of the water. Our waitress was also very attentive and friendly. Definitely looking forward to coming back in the future!

HOT DIGGITY DAWG! For this Hawg! We found our thrill on that roadside hill. And it was sooooo good. Dibs on the ribs. I ordered the full rack because ain’t nuthin better than finger licking good leftovers. Yummmmm Hangin off both sides of the plate Those ribs raised the bar for barbecue! Along with Baked beans. Fries. Hush puppies. Onion rings. All of those BBQ-y side things. Our happy meals were delightfully delivered by the one, the only Angela. She brought us heaping helpings of Hawg Wild wonders. And we were so glad. Thanks, girl! I saved this high spot on the Hiawassee hill in my GPS. But I do believe I can find it by the smoky trail waving in the wind. C’mon! Join us.
