Hastings-on-Hudson Library

The quaint library overlooking the Hudson River is a relaxing place to read or do research, with the river view adding to the calm atmosphere. The staff was extremely helpful & friendly. Although I live in NW Yonkers, I prefer the HoH Library, which is closer to home and offers easier parking.

Libraries have held a special place in my heart as early as six years of age. The Hastings Library is one of my very favorites because of its extraordinary staff competently led by Debbie Quinn. Mike helps you locate any book both inside and outside the Westchester Library System, while other staff members help in any way they can. Our library is beautifully set on a hill that overlooks the Hudson River. Its cozy yet efficient layout of desks, quiet rooms and peaceful atmosphere lends itself to being an outstanding library — a magical place in which to do one’s creative work! We often have exciting events where inspiring local writers read from, sign and sell their books. Just recently Regina, one of our librarians, spontaneously recommended a novel that she thought I would enjoy. I

A quiet reading room overlooking the Palisades is a really wonderful asset to the town. The library is not huge, but there's enough seating and there are group study and children's rooms available, too. The only complaints I have are the lack of a cafe and the fact that the tables have quite a build up of sticky grease on the edges from years of elbows and hands touching them.

Great library, best library ever, beautiful views of the river, comfy chairs, outside space for reading, kids section and area, rooms for taking calls that are soundproof(ish)
