Pretty huge park. My five year old had a blast. Lots of stuff there, so I’m gonna pass along some factoids about the park: Harvey West Park is a beloved 50-acre municipal park in Santa Cruz, California, often hailed as the city’s most comprehensive recreational space. 0 Nestled just off the intersection of Highways 1, 9, and 17, it’s easily accessible and serves as a hub for families, athletes, hikers, and community gatherings. With its mix of wooded trails, sports facilities, and open green spaces, it’s a go-to spot for outdoor fun in the heart of Santa Cruz. The park was a generous gift to the City of Santa Cruz in 1955 from philanthropist Harvey West, a Soquel lumber businessman born in 1894. West, whose father owned the Loma Prieta Lumber Company, expanded the park in 1958 by purch

Such a beautiful park and area with baseball fields, picnic tables, two playgrounds, an old train engine, Japanese friendship garden, pump track, trails, Native American and Old Western tribal post and displays. We went most recently to the free Omega Nu Ducky Derby carnival (April 26th) which was such an awesome kid-friendly event with very cheap prices - less than a dollar to play each ticket game, and less than $2 each to do the bounce house & inflatable slide! Will definitely come back again next year!

I love this park and taking my dog for walks. It is well-maintained. There are some trails. I would give 5 stars except there are people who have large dogs that don't feel they need to have their dog on a leash. I have had several instances where I have had a 40lb-60lb dog barrel towards me at a fast speed and come up on me with my small 15lb dog. This is actually quite concerning. The owners don't seem to care and say their dog is friendly and won't do anything. I was told that years ago, and a dog attacked me. I have scars from the dog biting me. So this is not okay! Keep your dog on a leash so that you have full control of your dog. Your dog should not be running at a fast speed towards someone. This area needs to be monitored, and fines given out to dog owners who feel they are above

Awesome park that has lots of room to spread out in and on. The grass is green, the trees are tall, the shade is right and the air is fresh! Come foe a lazy play date with your dog on the trails, let's the kids scream with playful excitement or just read a book and listen to your surroundings. Tucked next to Costco and Highway 1, you can't go wrong if your an out of towner looking to see a new side of quiet and quaint. But a hidden mystery lives in the Cemetery that blows your mind if you dare stumble in and read the stones...interesting!

Currently camping here for the night for AIDS/LifeCycle. This park is beautiful and spacious with lots of tables and chairs nestled between tall giant gorgeous trees. It rains most of the morning but luckily the sky cleared and we got some sunshine. Even with all the rain, and about 3000 attendees, the ground was not muddy and icky. Thanks for letting us rest here for the night!
