Harusame Japanese Cuisine

Great sushi spot a block off the main road in South Orange. Portions are not oversized and the selection is great. Been here many times over the past year and a half and it's always consistently tasty plus the staff is super friendly and kind. Inside is on the smaller side, but never too busy to get a seat. Give them a try!

A lesser known Japanese place on a quieter street in S. Orange. Food is delicious and certainly on par with other local places. The service is much better though. Personal, and considerate, which is actually unlike the others where it always seems like the servers are just phoning it in. Lighting is low, which adds to a relaxed atmosphere. Parking lot is tiny but parking is free on side streets. A fave of locals.

The other reviews did not steer me wrong. It is a small place, but good for takeout. I ordered the American Dream and Lobster Tempura roll. Loved the sweet eel sauce, and enjoyed the Lobster roll the most. The spicy sauce on the American dream overpowered the roll and drowned out the crab flavor. But it was tasty nonetheless. The only complaint is that carpet. It has that old carpet odor and needs to be changed. That alone could keep me from returning. My rating is for the food only. Could have been higher if it weren't for poor presentation for the store front and rolls.

Harasume has done it again! Catered from them for a party again and it was a crowd pleaser! I ordered the Academy boat for 5 and GE Bridge for 2, added some additional sushi, sashimi & rolls to help fill in. Exceptional service and they let me borrow the boat/bridge to take home. Everyone loved the meal!

I’ve been coming here for over 7 years now. This is truly the best sushi I’ve had in all of NJ. I love their rolls. If you love salmon, they have so many delicious, fun salmon rolls. I’ve tried so much of the menu, and absolutely everything is beyond delicious.
