Hartford Public Library, Downtown Library

I had such an amazing time at the library! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful — they went out of their way to help me find exactly what I was looking for. The space was quiet, clean, and comfortable, perfect for reading and studying. I also loved how organized everything was and how easy it was to check out books. The library offers so many great resources, from free Wi-Fi to online databases. Overall, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had — I’ll definitely be coming back often!

This is my favorite place to spend a nice quiet afternoon. If only the security guard Lisa could stop harassing me and my bf about anything and everything that has no reason to be said. I find it very disrespectful when she constantly blames me or my bf for something that someone else did, or not treating us fairly. Letting other people talk loudly and not get spoken to, but if I say something I'm automatically reprimanded despite not being loud. Make it make sense Lisa 🫩🤨😒

Did a resin craft here yesterday. One of the nicest libraries I've been to. Fun, clean, friendly librarians. Will definitely be coming here again.

Everytime I've been their it has been a delight. Staff are professional and well learned in their field of employment and the overall experience for me has been positive. Visit this place for all your library desires and needs.

The HPL has more than just books, computers, it has many other activities and events to peak your interest, book club, sewing, arts. and crafts and much more. Check it out!!!
