I’ve been going past Harlan’s my entire life and had never stopped in until last night. Dang have I been missing out. Right when we entered we were greeted in a very friendly manner, seated right away, and had our drink order taken promptly. All of the staff we interacted with were incredibly personable and friendly. Special shoutout to our waitress, Ashton. She did exceptional at her job and both my wife and I enjoyed visiting with her! The food was delicious! We had the Appetizer Heaven to get a wide selection, and each part was as good as the last. I ordered the ribs and really enjoyed them. I have frequently visited this establishment since I was a teenager still in high school because it was good affordable food, but today I wanted to make sure I shared how wonderful the experience was. I brought my two toddlers in for breakfast and they are a pretty rowdy pair most of the time. Harlan’s is one of the few places that never makes me feel out of place bringing them along they provide adorable little coloring sheets with crayons and have a very affordable kids menu. This morning my fiancé is out of town and I am missing him hard, wishing he was with us for breakfast and they have been so extremely hospitable to me the food was absolutely on point as always. A lovely diner experience with a full menu. We tried the 1B breakfast with bacon and a biscuit and gravy and a strawberry waffle. Both were delicious. The whipped cream tasted freshly made and the biscuit was fluffy. The gravy was just right. I’d come back to try some lunch.

Lori had a BLT; she said it was good. I had the walleye (fish). It was great! I'll be back every other Friday for AYCE walleye. Why every other you ask? We have game night, and pot luck, at our church, New Hope in Coal Valley, every other Friday!

I've been driving by here for years so I figured we'd give it a go. My son got a hotdog kids meal, my wife got a steak and I got the catfish. We all got fries as a side and they were literally the worst fries we've had anywhere. They were like stale fries from a frozen tv dinner, but we continued eating without bringing it up. They toasted the hotdog bun and broke it in half so my 3 year old couldn't really eat it right as the hotdog just kept falling out. My wife's steak was very unflavored, very lewthery, she had to use steak sauce to finish it. Her macaroni and cheese was also obviously microwaved instant style. My catfish was okay but that had to be the most bland breading ever used on catfish, if I didn't have tartar sauce I wouldn't of been able to finish it. As we looked around we r
