Harbaugh-Thomas Library

Harbaugh-Thomas Library in Biglerville is a wonderful asset to the quaint town! Librarians are always friendly and helpful. Numerous activities to become involved in for children as well as adults. Many books and other materials to choose from. Always neat and clean. Courtyard is lovely and welcoming. The unique structure is a beautiful replica of George Washington’s Mount Vernon with an interesting history. It fits in perfect with the history surrounding the area of Gettysburg.

Beautiful!!! I've wanted to check out this library for awhile and I am so happy I finally did. When I turned the corner to find the parking lot, I was left breathless by what I saw. Such a perfect reading/learning spot. The librarian was amazing. I had many questions for her; and she was enormously informative! Not just on the library but the history of it. Totally appreciated her! I will be back!

The size is larger than I expected. There is a courtyard with statues of children and tables and chairs. The children's room and common room is large (or at least larger than I expected). There are meeting room facilities downstairs and well as a drinking fountain and rest rooms. There is an elevator and a nice broad wooden staircase to go downstairs and upstairs. There are computers and Wi-Fi available. It looks fully handicapped accessible to get into the library and once you are in - around the back of the building has good parking and access. Good library.

I was recently at the Biglervile public library and I found it very well kept up and clean. Even the bathrooms were neat and tidy, the librarians were very helpful and helped me order several books from other Adams county libraries that had the books that I requested. Very enjoyable experience.

Staff is courteous, library is clean and quiet. They have computers for patrons to use and you can print items for a nominal fee.
