Handel's Homemade Ice Cream Niles

I know it's not the ideal weather for ice cream but I stopped at the one in Niles around 1:25 p.m. and I'm not sure if anyone was working there or not. I stood there for 5 minutes and picked my flavor and nobody ever came up to take my order. I was the only person there and maybe they just aren't open today. I thought they were open all year but maybe something changed. I'm going to drive out of my way and go to Belmont Avenue. As I checked the reviews they don't really seem to care that they are a terrible representative of Handel's Ice Cream which is the best in the area. That's the problem with franchises. The one on Market Street in Youngstown is still phenomenal and I've never had an issue at the one on Belmont Avenue. I'm guessing they don't check the complaints because there isn't

Wow. I wanted a strawberry 🍓 milkshake and when my partner went to order he was told about a strawberry cheesecake milkshake. Sooooo good. Also, this size is a monster. It was seriously huge. I had to put it in the freezer at home and have some more the next day. He had a banana split and that looked amazing, too. He said it was delicious. I was surprised at how affordable it was, as well, with how big my shake was, the split, and our childs ice cream dish. This is definitely a place I recommend for cold treats and we will definitely be going there again.

I don't eat ice cream that often, but when I do, I go to Handel's. I have never had an ice cream or milkshake I didn't enjoy. This particular time I wanted a carmel Sundae with chocolate/ peanut butter ice cream. This sundae was HUGE! I have never had a better ice cream dish. I will definitely be having this again!

Found a lovely paper straw wrapper in my banana split. Started chewing and I said something doesn’t feel right. This is what I was chewing on. Absolutely disgusting. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but this has made me never want to eat at handles again. And we stopped every week 😖

Handel's is like that small town ice cream place you remember from 30 + years ago, but can enjoy today! I loved it. The Oree-dough milkshake is what I got, and it didn't disappoint 😋
