Hampstead Public Library

I really wanted to love coming here but our first experience was very uncomfortable. I felt very "watched" and "judged" for having two energetic boys - not only in the thrift store but also the library. Why have a cute children's corner if you are annoyed by little children? We were constantly corrected despite me tending immediately to my boys. It got to the point that we left.

wonderful play/craft room but awful hospitality. There’s a sign in the bathroom that says the custodian is getting tired of cleaning up after basically the public. I understand that people can be careless but for someone who cleans up after themselves, I think maybe the sign should be reworded. It’s an uncomfortable sign and seems quite hostile.

I am new to the area, and the library staff have gone out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. In the months since moving here, I have been very impressed with the depth and breath of the library's programs, services, and collection!

Nice selection and clean library. It's not the most updated but it serves its purpose. They have a great craft room for kids.

The tall young chap working at the library is so nice and helpful.
