Haby's Alsatian Bakery

Very nice bakery in Castroville. Plenty of pastries, cookies, and pies to choose from. There's fountain drinks and not coffee too! Everything we tried tasted great. Stopped again on our way back through to buy another dozen pecan sandies. So delicious!

On our way out to Seminole Canyon SP, we stopped here for some food. It was late on a Friday afternoon, but they still had plenty of sweets. We got cherry and apple turnovers, bread, and cookies. We had a few on the car ride, but I saved my apple turnover for the hike and it was delicious. The cookies were so moist and a perfect end to a long hike.

I loved this place. I had the best ever maple long John. The donut was so soft, filled with a wonderful Bavarian cream and iced with a perfect maple flavored icing. I could eat two every day. Good thing I dont live close by. My Mom loved the donut holes. The loaf a French bread was also very soft and had a wonderful flavor. I tried the macaroons both the regular and Turkish ones with the dates and Pecans. They were really, really good. Great customer service on a busy morning.

First time stopping by on the way to Hondo and this place is so goooood! On my way back I stopped by again and got a few more. Definitely recommend checking out if in the area.

Excellent Alsatian baked goods. Very much like what we were able to get in Alsace/Strasbourg area. Wonderful selection of pastries at reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly. Their breads are also very nice. Drinks and a few other items are available at the far right once you walk in. They also have a half-off section of pastries that we also tried (they were still quite good and relatively fresh).
