Gwinnett County Public Library - Lilburn Branch

The woman that works here is like a drill Sargent. She actually told an autistic child to be quiet. He was at the computer minding his own business and just getting excited, and she actually told him he needed to be quiet. No one was annoyed with him, and it was totally unnecessary and actually really upsetting. Gone are the days where a library is super quiet. It’s a learning space, not a mortuary. It took everything I had not to say anything and keep my mouth closed in defense of the child with special needs. She is always telling people to be quiet even if they are whispering, and it’s very annoying and rude.

Very nice and clean. Nice staff. Love that the bathroom in the children’s area is ‘kids sized’. My son felt so proud he could reach everything.

2025.02.21 Random small town moment... I am returning my... Double digits of book returns to the library today like a responsible reader. With a tote full, I push the button and begin feeding the books one at a time, flipping through to double check that didn't leave bookmarks. Every so often, a little voice comments something adorable like "You've got great taste in books!" Or: "Wonderful choice, I wonder what you are going to pick next!" And... after the twentieth book or so "What a prolific reader you are! I am so glad you use the library!" ... Cute. New feature, I think. I have a smile on my face *despite* returning my little borrowed trove . I also had an odd moment when I realized that the conveyor belt didn't quite sound right, so I peeked in... And two very very human eyes looked

Very nicely organized. The staff are very friendly and professional. Everyone had a mask on, with the exception of a few teenagers who were not wearing one. I should mention that it was super cold there. So be prepared to bring a hoodie or jacket if you’re going to stay and study for more than 5 hours.

Any library in Gwinnett County is awesome. Whenever I don't have the time or gas to drive to other Gwinnett county library with late open access I usually am at the Lilburn Gwinnett County Library. It's situated within the building of city council of Lilburn. There's 3 floors. Aside from the library there's other resources located in the building, such as permits. The library is very spacious and up to date with the latest desktop computer, iMac, which I tend to use whenever my older model of phone and laptop are lagging. I get plenty of desk work done.
