My family and I visited the Gwinnett County Public Library-- the Hooper Renwick Branch, located at 56 Neal Blvd, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. It was a breath of fresh air. From the moment you walked up to the outside of the building, it captured our attention because of the beautiful, vibrant colors they added to the front of the building. When you enter through the automatic front doors, it just smells new and fresh. My kids love it because it's closer to where we live. They have one section where you have the library, where you can sit and study and do research or read books. It's very easy to check out your books using the self-service checkout machine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Then you have another section of the library, that's like a museum. It was very interesting to s
beautiful space with nice history but there’s almost always no where for me to sit. the area to study in is so little. compared to my experiences at the duluth and norcross libraries i was wondering where the “rest” of the space went. also selection just seemed kinda miniature. it just doesnt fully feel like a library, more like a historical homage with a small piece of library attached. went from having a great library right by my house to having to drive 12+ to get to a library that will have seating 😔
Finally, they are putting our tax dollars to good use in Gwinnett county. I am delighted that they have preserved this black historic school. Very thankful for those for fought to make this happen. I also really love that the Love & Aid society building across from the library is still standing. Very impressed with the available resources at the library: recording studio for audio and film, circuit machine, 3D printing, sewing studio, auto press and soldering.
This is the most amazing library I've ever been to. Although I don't live anywhere near, while visiting in the area, the building caught my eye. I was so surprised at the hidden gem inside. I am an avid library user/ participant and I've experienced very few facilities as culturally rich as this one. This library was well kempt, beautiful, and maintained. I will definitely be back (and bringing others)!
A new state of art with hands-on displays and library. This newlyn designed library has a historical significance since it was originally a local black high school in the 1950s. The ribbon cutting ceremony took place on June 16, 2025. This new library is a must visit place. It is a beautiful redesigned building that displays the historical significance in an innovative and hands-on fashion, and a fully functional library.
