Nope! I’ve had better! It doesn’t even taste like curry goat. It’s tough and has many bones. My husband and I wanted some Jamaican food and decided to try this place. Ewww! Customer service sucks! Young lady in the front has a dead soul! No professionalism! I ordered curry goat and rice only!! My husband ordered oxtails dinner! We both said the food was nasty!! We’ve had better! Never again! $54.00 down the drain! Damn! And, I was hungry!!
This new Jamaican joint was great! The staff was welcoming and the young woman at the counter was very friendly and professional. I had a large Jerk Chicken plate with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. I got my plate spicy and added oxtail gravy to the rice. I paid $11 for my plate and couldn't eat it all. A smaller option was available for less. The chicken was sweet and spicy, the cabbage was probably the best I've had at a Caribbean place, and the rice and peas were great with the gravy! I'm glad I didn't let the whole in the wall appearance keep me from giving them a try! I will be back, and next time I'll try to make it earlier, because I want to give their beef and chicken patties a try!
This is another hidden gem in Covington. The Curry Chicken, rice and peas, plantains and cabbage is very good. They give good portions, the food is fresh and hot and the prices are reasonable. I can't wait to try the Oxtails (I'm giving you a heads up. They are between $30-34.) You want Jamaican give Gwen's a try. Thank me later! 😇
When I tell you I almost called them back to tell them how delicious this plate of food was. I got the sweet jerk chicken , white rice, plantain and cabbage. My husband got rice and peas, cabbage, plantain, and curry chicken. And a extra side of plantain. So incredible! The food gets better every single time and all the women that work there are so sweet. My husband said thank you for the malt! We will be back whenever we are in town 💚
So had a regular oxtail costed about $29 and change plus tax obviously, I know oxtails are in high demand, but I really got a lot of bones as well. Unfortunately I really don’t want to pay such a high price for little to no food. Sauce was a bit watery but that’s okay. Flavor was pretty bland, meat did not taste too good not sure if it was because it was close to closing and got scraps..I guess it depends on who’s cooking? Service was alright overall.
