Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Had a great time here; met a friend for lunch. The service was incredible! The food was also very tasteful. I loved the fried fish and fries. The beans were also fire. The crab cakes weren’t my favorite but i can’t knock my review on that.

The food was very good, served hot and promptly. Willy was helping us today, he was our cook and our server. He did an excellent job, I felt bad that he was doing so much, his help was either on break or just ignoring that he could use a bit of help. Willy never complained,never acted rushed or inconvenienced. He was truly a breath of fresh air. The fried green tomatoes and chicken tenders were delicious, perfectly fried and nice and crunchy, but the meat was moist and flavorful.

Very welcoming and the customer service is good. I took a picture of the best thing I tasted on the menu. Sweet potato pie and ice cream which we ordered first cause who doesn’t like dessert first. Moving to the meal..well it left something to be desired. While all the check boxes are there they fall short on flavor and the most interesting was their twist on Mac and cheese…it was like they didn’t trust it by itself so they added unmelted shredded cheese and paprika. Not a paprika fan so wish I could have opted out on that. Overall a solid meal just not fully capturing the World Famous title.

The food was steaming hot. The waitress was very polite and courteous. I give the restaurant a ten out of ten. The restaurant is well maintained. I notice that the facility is well kept. A Very nice place to sit and eat. I am very impressed with the service that I received. If you are looking for some great food I would highly recommend this restaurant on Ray Road.

My new favorite place to eat! Willie, our server was friendly, enthusiastic with great energy. I ordered the 2pc dark meat meal with beans and slaw. When the order came out it was hot and so moist & juicy with a hint of spicy. And did I mention an extra thigh was added at no charge? Try Gus’s on Ray Rd in Ahwatukee. You’ll become a fan.
