Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Food was Amazing. Chicken batter does have a little kick to it so beware for you non spicy eaters. Spice level i would rate at 1/10. Batter was flavorful and how they fried it the outside was crunchy and inside very very juicy. No pink spots around the bone so its fully cooked. Price was very affordable. Price and quality of chicken here will have you double guessing KFC. The only bad thing is that this is located in downtown so finding parking can take awhile. It is worth the experience though.

Gus’s is legit fried chicken. This fried chicken has a light crispy crust. Not too much breading. Just the right amount. I tried the half bird to get the full picture. Not one piece disappointed. All were both crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tenders don’t hold up quite the same as the others likely due to the lake of skin. This make sense. Also tried some fried green tomatoes. These were good and they came out quite hot, be careful. Greens, okra, and beans were solid. Mac and cheese was good but not the best in my opinion. Tried some warm chocolate chess pie too. Really smelled great almost like a brownie. You can try the pie warm or cold. I would probably get two slices on my next visit!

If you're wanting great fried chicken and solid homestyle cooking while you're in Little Rock, you go to Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken. I had been going to Little Rock for years, and I can't believe I had never gone to Gus's before. The dark meat fried chicken plate is where it's AT. The chicken wasn't too greasy, it was hot, and it was so tender. The mac and cheese was also so yummy as it was seasoned to perfection. Of course, you can never go wrong with fried okra. Their tenders were good too, but the bone in fried chicken is what you want to order if you're going to Gus's.

Classic comfortable environment with oldies music. Friendly folks ♡ Shae was our server and sweet as pie. Absolutely delicious food but you already knew that because your here for the confirmation 😉 Greens are amazingly seasoned, Mac and cheese was nicely aldente. The sweet tea was perfect in my opinion not too sweet. The coating on the chicken was delightfully thin and crispy, chicken was juicy 😋 I'm extremely happy with this place can not wait to come back.

Great southern friend chicken. The batter was just right. Not too thick and crumbly, just spicy enough. The chicken was tender and juicy. The sides were excellent. The fried pickles were the best I've ever had. Go there, eat great chicken, and be happy.
