We finally made it to Gupshup for my husband’s birthday weekend and it absolutely did not disappoint. We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, and even though it was freezing outside, we braved the weather and are so glad we did. The service was outstanding, and our server’s sense of humor made the night even more enjoyable. He also gave great recommendations, and I truly appreciated that he didn’t mock me for not liking cilantro. So many Indian restaurants make a joke out of that, which feels demeaning especially since it’s genetic, not a personal choice. It was refreshing to be treated with respect. The spice levels were perfect - balanced, bold, and not watered down or “westernized”. The food felt authentic and thoughtfully prepared. The chili mango lassi was a brilliant twis

GupShup is such a fun and vibrant place. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but the flavors and presentation really stand out. I loved the Bombay sandwich. The quantity was small but it honestly felt like proper Bombay street style, which made it feel authentic. The paneer cheese rolls and jackfruit pull tacos are a must try. Both were packed with flavor and really well done. The butter chicken wings were another highlight. So good and perfectly cooked. The lychee rabadi dessert was amazing. The sweetness was balanced just right and topped with pistachios, dried rose petals, and fresh lychees. It all came together beautifully and was such a satisfying way to end the meal. Hospitality was great and the staff were amazing. Glen was our host and gave excellent suggestions. The overall vib

Been on the Beli hit list for some time now - traditional Indian restaurant in Union Square neighborhood of NYC. The interior is super vibey, lots of wall art classic to the Indian subcontinent. Restaurant is two levels, we were seated upstairs and it felt very cozy. They have a giant mural of a Bengal tiger named Shere Khan so obviously it made sense for us to eat here. For appetizers we ordered the Dahi Sev Puri which looked like a traditional “gol gappa/pani puri” but instead was filled with a very flavorful yogurt. We also got the Malai tikka which was served with pickled onions and green chutney - a 10/10 for sure. For the mains, we ordered the traditional lamb shank nihari which was full of flavor and had various spices infused. Main gripe about this dish was the lamb had a little

A wonderful friend decided to book a brunch reservation here. If you love the spicy foods and can handle it - you must come! Unfortunately for us, even at the mildest spicyness request, that was our limit apparently - BUT let me tell you everything was delicious and flavorful, so we would definitely come again if we are in the area. (We will just remember to bring extra tissues.) The most surprising thing was that the Ghost Chili House Chutney was not as spicy as we thought it would be and it quickly became one of our favorites along with the rest of the House Chutneys to dip the masala fries into or eat it with assortment of other things we had at the table. The Butter Masala Paneer was delicious but I did order it with least amount of spiciness possible. I found it absolutely delightf

Food was aright, they have good creative cocktails. We ordered all vegetarian food like channa and kulcha, pulled jackfruit tacos, onion chilli cheese kulcha, avocado pomegranate raita and paneer butter masala. The restaurant has a charming vibe and the service was great! Paneer butter masala was alright, for a popular restaurant like Gupshup the quality of paneer disappointed my expectations.
