Guido's Chicago Meats & Deli

If you're trying to find authentic Italian food and products, this is the place. Here you'll find not only a restaurant but a generous deli section as well with some of your favorite Italian pantry staples. My partner and I we were greeted by such warm and friendly people who treated everyone like family. And the food? Perfetto! The food was worth the wait and I was able to find lupini beans (haven't had those in YEARS!) and a beautiful soppressata. My only regret was not having any room for dessert but I will definitely be having some of that cannoli cake next time. Molto bene!

This was our first visit to Guido's and we truly enjoyed the experience. The fusion of deli/restaurant is reminiscent (obviously) to Italian delis in Chicago and St. Louis. Very friendly, very welcoming, very family. The calamari was tender and breaded to perfection. Mama's meatballs were hearty and seasoned wonderfully. They are big! The calabrese salad is fresh and delicious and the balsamic is so well-balanced.... we bought two bottles. Our servers were attentive and friendly and just wonderful people. The only downside I could see is that I wanted to get closer to the shelves to look at the variety of limoncello and wines and couldn't because there were occupied tables in front of them.

Interesting deli + Italian groceries, they have everything except produce. They even have anchovy paste, yes, anchovy paste, not tomato paste. That is what I call exotic. lol. Service was quick, so quick that I felt rush. They literally assumed you knew what you wanted and expect you to place the order as soon as you are seated at the booth. As for foods: French Dip - it was good but expensive for a sandwich. Pastrami sandwich- I meant to order hot pastrami but ordered the wrong one due to the rush. The cold pastrami did not much meat as you can see from the picture. And was just ok. Broasted Chicken- first time trying this and not impressed. It was salty, soggy, dried and chewy. First time here, outstanding service by the whole team! The Meatballs were fantastic and Chicken Parmesan was excellent…cleaned up the dish! Also the Bruschetta was so good 😀 Dessert was Sfogliatelle..delicious! Great value all around

Charming deli and restaurant. Got the eggplant parmesan sandwich and the tortellini con broccoli and both were delicious. I can see why they’ve been in business so long.
