This market is not welcoming tourists that much. It’s located in a neighbourhood which is not super clean, and since it’s open only at night, the walk to it if you go by public transport may not necessarily feel safe. The selection of dishes is not that huge - there are many stalls offering the same food like fried chicken and chips. People don’t look at you in a friendly way if you take photos. Everyone mostly speaks Spanish. The prices are outrageous if you are a tourist - they just do 3x or so. Payment is of course cash only. The food I tried tasted nothing more than ok. Overall this is a place meant for locals. I would not recommend if you are a tourist. Maybe if you speak Spanish it would make your experience better
Certainly one of the dirtier night markets. I like how everyone turns shopping carts into BBQ grills. The food is good obviously, and the people are nice, but I just felt like I had to go, kinda like didn't want to stay too long
This is a congregation of street vendors selling Guatemalan food Straight out of shopping carts and other put together apparatus, Which gives it a very authentic South American feel. The food also taste authentic. I was a little bit surprised at the cost and it seemed to have a tourist fee Built-in. Worth a visit if you never tried before however I don't think I would go back.
A lot of people ask about the tamales, chuchitos, pupusas and the like and this is a very good place. They also have champurrado and atole drinks. There are natural flavored waters made of real fruit. Here is where the famous bacon wrapped hot dogs are sold with onions, jalapenos peppers, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and the option to make it spicy. The place has natural homemade beef and chicken soups, grilled fish, fried cauliflower, shrimp cocktails and other foods and meals.
What a delightful selection of Guatemalan food, affordable and delicious. From specialty drinks to all kinds of grilled meats and other traditional dishes. Their parrilladas are specially great as well as the fried chicken and potatoes. Highly recommended
