Best meal we have has this trip so far. The atmosphere is casual and the view of the bay is fantastic. Salena was our server and she did an outstanding job serving us and happily answered our questions about dishes on the menu. Our meal was shrimp & grits, salad bar and I had fried shrimp platter with whipped loaded sweet potato & coleslaw. Kid friendly. We will be back!
We always seek out a new to us place for dining on our trips to Gulf Shores, and saw lots of suggestions for GTs on The Bay! Our visit started a bit awkward as we approached the hostess stand, none of the three ladies seemed interested in greeting us. So we politely let them know we had a party of 4 and one of them made the sacrifice of leading us to a table. Our waitress was very friendly and suggested some appetizers from the happy hour menu despite it being almost an hour past happy hour. We started with the fried pickles and cheese pizza. The fried pickles had a delicate coating of batter and a clean fry, and nice pickle flavor. Instead of a pizza they brought out chips and queso, which got returned and a fabulous cheese pizza was brought out rather quickly much to the delight of
From the moment we pulled into the parking lot which was maintained and organized, and walking thru the 10 foot high wood & glass entry doors, I felt this place was special. Warm beach woods lined the waiting area and a long hallway to get to the main dining room with its large open top "pool" that had large native fish circulating in it. We walked through the nicely appointed interior dining and headed for the huge covered patio, which was open to the north highlighting the view of the slightly windswept Wolf Bay. Massive backbar to the West with a Steel Drummer putting an Island vibe to 1980's popular music including opening soundtracks to 1970's to turn of the century tv shows. OK, this place is cool! Service? It was a slow start. We got there at the end of Happy Hour and the start o
The food and service are first rate. GT's is part of a group of restaurants that feature great food and service! This doesn't happen by accident, and their operation isn't hit and miss. I had collard greens, smashed Yukon potatoes and the Yellowfin tuna. My goodness gracious it was good! My friend had the Seared Atlantic Salmon Salad. We each ordered a craft draft beer because it was Happy Hour. Both beers were good! We traded "tastes" of our entrees, and my friend's salmon was excellent! We didn't have room for dessert, but maybe next time. We dined alfresco because of the lovely weather. The view of the bay is beautiful! There is a large aquarium inside with a few large saltwater fish. There is a large outdoor playground for children. There was entertainment this evening. A gu
The best part of our experience was Hope - she was very kind and patient, and even helped me pick my entree. The portions are VERY generous, so you may want to skip the appetizers. Firecracker Shrimp - very salty, but the sauce had a great flavor; just not very spicy. Surf n Turf - I got it with the Blackened Shrimp. The star of the meal was honestly the grits at the bottom of the plate. The steak was seasoned well, but was pretty tough cooked at a Medium-Rare. The Shrimp was good as well, nothing to write home about.
