Greg's BBQ

Perfect choice if you're hungry. My first visit was great. Highly recommend. I didn't like being asked to pay for my meal before I was done. But it's okay. It was still a great experience!

Greg's BBQ is a hidden gem in the small town of Belen. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's got a quirky divey character inside. The side room looks newer but has an ancient looking tile ceiling that's really cool. I got the shredded brisket sandwich and it was EXCELLENT. There was a perfect mix of juicy meat, char and fat. I got it with the "magic" sauce which is mixed spicy and sweet, and it was delicious. The sauce is quite sweet, Caroline style, which is my favorite and goes so well with the char and fat. I also got the green beans which were well grilled and salted in (a lot of) butter. Delicious. Our waitress was very nice and my total cost with a beer was $20. It was a nice stop on an otherwise long and boring drive.

I hadn’t eaten at Greg’s for over 2 years and stopped by today because I was in the area. Well the pulled pork sandwich and fries were as delicious as the last time I had them! My server was great and I chatted with Greg… I also took a half rack of the bbq pork ribs home to my husband to enjoy! I will return soon to enjoy more of Greg’s delicious bbq! I ordered the brisket and pork plate. The brisket was good but a bit dry. The pork was very good. The potatoe salad and green beans where too salty for my taste. Service was outstanding!
