My husband and I each got oxtail rice and peas veggies and plantains. We also got jerk Mac. Mom and pop shop with amazing food and great service. We sat in the car and savaged. We will definitely be back 10/10
The food was ok. I ordered a large fried chicken with jerk mac and cheese, large oxtails, and a lunch special which was jerk chicken. You should always check your food before leaving (I did not). I was never given the jerk mac and cheese, I was only given a lot of rice and peas which along with cabbage was very bland. The plantains were pretty good. But as for a large chicken order, it was only a leg and a thigh cut in half. I should have ordered the small because the jerk chicken had the same thing inside for less money. The oxtails were also good though.
Grand Mango is my go to spot any time I host events and the food NEVER disappoints. My guests always say this is some good food!!!! I’m one satisfied returning customer. Thanks for making good food Grand Mango.
It's not very often that I see a Caribbean restaurant outside of the greater New York City areas, and especially not 'upstate'. So I was pleasantly surprised to see the Grand Mango in Central Valley, just a few miles away from my fiancé's home. I discovered Caribbean food a few years ago, and I was so glad that I did! This, is soul food at its finest, and Grand Mango did not disappoint! Walking from the car to the stores entrance, I could literally smell the Jerked Chicken sizzling away out back on a Bar-B-Que Smoker, and I was itxhing to dig in. They had Oxtails, which I had to have, and rice with peas, which is another staple. I asked if they had sweet cabbage and plantains and the kid behind the counter looked at me and smiled and said, 'Oh, so you know then?' - My man... oh I know!
I’ve been living in area for 6 years now and we are always looking for some authentic food in the area. Had a friend recommend this place and coming from living in Brooklyn all my life I wasn’t hype as I know good Caribbean food. But I went today to try. Walked in the girl at counter said someone will be right with you as she leave the store Me and wife stood there at counter for 15 minutes with zero acknowledgment. I figured it’s Sunday so maybe why. But the place honestly is disgusting inside. I was shocked that they are open due to this appearance. Like I said I’m from Brooklyn so tore down stores don’t faze me, but this one and the service not provided as awful beyond anything I’ve ever seen or experienced. I looked at my wife and said let’s leave before we order food and hate it even
