Grace Chicken + Fish

So this place has been Grace's for almost a year, and it's just...mid. The food is pretty good, to be fair, but it is *pricey* - I paid $22 for the order I picked up tonight, and the amount of food I got was...probably what you'd get at a fast food place for $15-$18. It's really just not worth the price. The service is okay, but I've also talked to a couple of former employees who said they got the bum's rush out the door when the new management took over, and they aren't entirely sure why. Food 8/10 Cleanliness/Atmosphere 8/10 Service 7/10 Value 5/10 I don't think I'll be back. it's just not worth the money. To be fair, I did order the sandwich plain, but I also added the cheese when I got home because they didn't have the cheese I wanted.

Amazing service and rich flavors, will need to explore more of the menu but an easy four stars and possibly five. Should have visited months ago. **Update** The hush puppies are limited in flavor and the perfect crust on them plus the dry interior make them perfect sauce delivery but little more, borderline bland. The Bourbon whipped sweet potatoes are perfectly whipped and smooth but with limited brown sugar, cinnamon, or Bourbon. Both sides are a bit anemic in flavor but perfectly executed in texture.

Having noticed that the menu fearured fried fish and fried chicken I held back from trying it out. BUT FINALLY GAVE IT A TRY.....and it was WONDERFUL! I had the Seoul Shakedown 🥪 sandwich. The flavors went together amazingly 👏 and it was moist, tender, and substantial... Having been to Grace Meat +3 I should have anticipated this...but sadly I did not. One of the best sandwiches I ever had. A delight to taste. So often fried fish or chicken sandwiches are dry abd boring...but not here! Give one of these complex sandwiches and try, amazingly designed food!

Outstanding food! Employees are delightfully enthusiastic and genuinely seem to care about putting out a top-notch product. Chicken was delicately breaded which allowed the juiciness of the meat to show through. The catfish portion was generous and tasty. The fries were nicely seasoned and complemented well by a dab of ketchup if desired. I generally don't prefer crinkle-cut but here they worked, and were correctly cooked. I didn't try any of the sauces or salsas, because the flavors and moisture balance were more than sufficient. The sweet tea was fresh and provided the finishing touch. Bonus points for cloth napkins and metal utensils!

The woman who took my carryout order over the phone was very nice and detailed oriented. She also greeted me warmly when I picked up my food. The fried chicken was amazing! The collard greens were perfect. Sadly everything else was below average. The macaroni and cheese was a clump of hard discolored spiral noodles with a low quality cheese sauce that had no flavor covered in bland bread crumbs with the consistency of sand. The cornbread was a super sized crouton eggs honey nor butter were in the room when it was made. When I bit into the fried green tomatoes there was a layer of pink uncooked batter beneath the usual cornmeal used to fry FGT.
