I had the opportunity to dine here again! Once again the quality and freshness of the food was amazing! I had the pastrami sandwich with motza ball soup and of course the house pickles, so very delicious! This will be some of the best pastrami you will try.
They are simply the best kosher deli in the US right now. Maybe Pico Deli in LA is in their league, but I can’t think of another. Can you? There is a sign posted from their original menu however many years ago, order from that menu, it’s still good. Stick to the deli and comfort foods. Don’t try the new stuff. Not worth it. There’s only so much room you’ll have in your tummy’s. Don’t complicate with a steak or chicken platter. Get the sandwich. Your taste buds will thank you for listening to me. Soups are also fantastic.
A week later and 1200 miles away... I'm still dreaming of that knish. I miss her. Got a knish, pastrami on rye, a latke, goulash, sesame chicken, and cabbage rolls. Not a bad thing on the menu, honestly.
I was a little apprehensive on how the experience was going to go at Gottlieb’s after reading some of the reviews. I was only going to be in Brooklyn for a short period of time and didn’t want to miss the opportunity. I am sure glad that I didn’t skip it…. First off, the food was incredible. We got a bunch of side dishes and a few sandwiches. The waiter was super nice, efficient and got the order perfect and was always ready to help us if we needed anything. The prices seemed very fair. It cost about $100 for the three of us.. I can’t wait to get back there as soon as I can. Thank you guys for a very memorable experience
"The food here is definitely the highlight. The pastrami sandwich was delicious and the chicken soup was great. However, the service left something to be desired regarding the extras. I was given a tiny 2oz cup of soup croutons, and when I asked for more, I was told it would cost extra. It felt a bit nickel-and-dimed for a basic topping. The atmosphere is nice and classic, though it does feel very old."
