Golden Gate Donuts

This is the quintessential SF donut shop. What I liked about the place was that the owner cared for each customer as if they were the most important person. Regardless of what condition they were in. The ladies were busy making the sandwiches and he was busy at the counter. The donuts were great and made right there. Thats not true with all places now. I did feel the apple fritter was a little too oily. But had a lot of apple in it. I will say. 5 star because they love the community and thats what matters.

I had a taste for some donuts and found this place wasn't too far a walk from my hotel. When I walked inside, I saw some of the biggest cinnamon rolls and croissants I ever saw in my life inside of the case. Though everything looked so good, I only ordered a couple donuts to go since it was just myself. I ordered a regular glazed donut and a cake donut that was covered in coconut. Both were delicious. The regular glazed one was so fluffy and perfect on the inside. If I visit again in the future, I'd definitely make it a point to stop here again.

Delicious original glazed donut from this small unassuming shop. The ladies running it are so lovely and friendly. They even threw in two glazed donut holes for me for free! Only $1.50. Large range of donuts, glazed and iced and American coffee and cold drink including juices available. Bar style seating for 2 people. So good I ate there again 2 days later. Would have been 3 days in a row but they were closed for Thanksgiving.

This is the best, friendliest and BEST freshest donuts in San Francisco. This shop has been here for decades serving up delicious food. Highly recommended!!

Sugar doughnuts are my favorite. I didn't care too much for the sugar ones here. Maybe it was just mine..... I can't really give a good review until I try the other doughnuts.... 😁
