Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant

Golden Gate is a gem that is known to Forest Park locals , but deserves wider recognition. I’ve been eating here for a good 15 years myself , and I was late to the party . I just eat the Americanized stuff myself, but for those wanting they have authentic Mandarin and Cantonese dishes as well. I always see a large contingent of Chinese and other Asians dining here . The hot and sour soup and the General Tso’s chicken are both the best I’ve ever had , also I really like the Pepper Steak and the Golden Gate Sizzling delight . The rice is perfect . The folks here are so nice , and you get a really generous portion for a very reasonable price ! I can’t recommend it highly enough .

This Chinese restaurant serves delicious and authentic Chinese food. Food is affordable and service is also quality. Servers are friendly even little English.

This is such a great spot! The restaurant is so clean inside and I love the glass dining window area. The staff are so kind, nice and welcoming. We stopped by during the cold icee evening to get something good for the crew. The food is amazing here! Everything we got was fire! Pictures is the General Taos.

I came here brought pepper steak dinner, Shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, egg drop soap, spring rolls. Nearly $50 worth of food. I already thought the food was over priced compared to other places with good food. Then the food was horrible and lacked flavor. I literally threw away all of the honey chicken looked like rat meat and taste old. I do not recommend and will never come back here. It taste like they dug in the dumpster for scraps and are serving it to the public. The best part was how the restaurant is set up. That's it!

The restaurant looks authentic, but that’s about it. The customer service and food were ridiculously poor. The Egg Foo Young was straight-up disgusting it looked like dough! I asked the young lady with pink hair to please get a manager so someone could explain what was in this food. Instead of even checking, she caught an attitude right away and said, “He’s not here, he just left, you’ll just have to wait — I can’t take it off.” I said, “Why does this look like dough? I’ve never seen Egg Foo Young look like this in my life.” Then I told her we didn’t want it and hadn’t even eaten any of it. She kept insisting they’ve been putting flour in it for over 30 years — like that made it okay! I said, “Well, I’m not paying for something we’re not eating.” At that point, I ended up calling Clayton
