Golden City Buffet

Stopped off here near Lumberton actually looking for a place that evidently is no longer in this stretch of road way. The outside and parking lot actually looked pretty shady. Folks hanging out and smoking things in the PL. Inside, typical 70, 80's vibe but clean. Food was actually quite good but not really very hot coming off of the buffet. They had some beautiful peel and eat shrimp in plenty on ice but no cocktail sauce . I asked for some at the front for my husband and wait staff acted as if I was asking for caviar....perhaps a teaspoonful that she took out of a refrigerator case near the front. Hubs went back for more as he is doing Keto and had more shrimp ( not a large amount total) same wait staff even more unfriendly. Ladies clearing table were so very nice and attentive. I enjoye

The food is top tier. Most of it was super fresh, there were some food items that weren’t as fresh, but when you go to a buffet you kind of have to expect that. The flavor was amazing! I even got a to go plate. The atmosphere isn’t the best, but it’s a pretty small space and they probably don’t have a large budget, but whatever they lack in atmosphere they make up in food quality, service and pricing. The service was excellent! Even when the restaurant was decently full I would always be taken care of. The cherry on top was how cheap it was. 26 dollars for 2 people! When I go to the Golden City in my town it’s like $35 ;-; I would come here everyday if I didn’t live so far away :(

It's a small place with good customer service. The food had a good flavor, but most of the supposedly hot food was cool or just slightly warm. It was my first time there and it wasn't a good impression. I may go back one day, but no time soon.

It's hit and miss, depends on who's in the kitchen but when it's good it's really good and when the good cook isn't there it's just not very good. That's why I don't go often.

Not worth it for the price. Even the ice cream was bad. Very very small buffet and food was not very good. Only good thing about the experience was that food was hot, but didn't taste very fresh. Service was mid, no one was really friendly and they weren't very attentive. I personally will not be coming back.
